All About Your Teacher
Welcome to the 2018 - 2019 James Hart School year!
I am the RTI coordinator here at James Hart. This is my sixth year in district 153, but my first year working at James Hart. I received my undergraduate degree in elementary education at Lewis University, after graduation I taught forth grade for a year, then my husband and I decided to move to Kentucky. There, I substitute taught and worked on my Masters degree remotely from Dominican University. I received my masters in education with a focus on reading instruction. After a year and a half I was lucky enough to find a full time teaching job in the world of Response to Intervention (RTI). I worked in Paducah, Kentucky for a year and a half developing interventions systems for a k-5 building. From there my husband and I decided to return to home sweet Chicago. Upon our return I started working at Millennium school in this district and truly fell into my niche of developing RTI structures for the 5-6 building. After Millennium closed I worked in Orland Park school district for two year as a math interventionist, but felt the need to continue to be part of this community and family. So here I am back home in District 153 and very happy to be part of the James Hart Staff.
Through all of my experiences I have developed a love of creating opportunities for ALL students to learn and grow. My passion for teaching has developed into building structures within a school to provide opportunities for students to grow and be enriched by education. I truly am excited to be part of James Hart and the HSD 153 team!
