Welcome to Ms. Rutledge's teachers page!
I am very much looking forward to beginning my seventh year teaching at James Hart School. James Hart, along with all of Homewood School District 153, is near and dear to my heart. I grew up in Homewood, attended Willow and James Hart, and now I am raising my four sons here.
I graduated from Illinois State University (Go Red Birds!) in 2011 with a Bachelor's of Science in Political Science, and minors in History and Sociology. After graduating I worked on a couple of political campaigns, which did not satisfy my desire to make a difference for the greater good.
Eastern Illinois University (Go Panthers!) was my next stop, where I received my Post-Baccalaureate Teaching Certificate. I student taught at Bloom High School in Chicago Heights. After covering a couple of long-term sub positions here at Hart and a year as a PE teacher, I am thrilled to have my own classroom at James Hart School.
