6TH GRADE ART

This course focuses mainly on art production, art aesthetics, and art criticism. Art reinforces their prior knowledge of painting skills and drawing skills. When students return to school from remote learning they are introduced to new terminology, ceramics and clay building skills, and technology during the clay unit. Art history is included weekly so students can focus on aesthetics and learn constructive ways to critique major pieces of art (art criticism). The projects created in 6th grade are:

Keith Haring Drawing

Clay Animal Pinch Pots

Clay Coil Pots

3 Dimensional Object Drawings - 5 boxes & 5 forms

Perspective Drawings (Landscapes) - 1 pt. landscape, and 2 pt. house

Parody Paintings of a Master Painting
