School Nurse - Jessica Kors, RNC, PEL-CSN

Welcome to James Hart School and thank you for visiting my page!

A little about me...
After college, I worked in the corporate world for a few years and determined it just wasn't for me. I went back to nursing school in 2007, and began my nursing career at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in labor and delivery in 2008. I worked my way up to be a charge nurse during the night shift on one of the largest L&D units in the country, and took part in thousands of deliveries over the years. After having 2 children of my own, it was clear I needed to find another opportunity with better hours, and closer to home. My sister mentioned to me that the school nurse at James Hart was retiring, and at first I did not even consider it since it was such a huge shift from my previous experience. However, the idea stuck with me and I decided to pursue it. I am so glad I did!

I began my school nursing career at James Hart in the fall of 2018. In December of 2020, I completed graduate level coursework and am now credentialed with a Professional Educators License as a Certified School Nurse (PEL-CSN). I have learned so much about how health impacts a student's ability to learn, and I am always looking for ways to remove these barriers.

Please take some time to look over the District "Health Services" webpage as it has a lot of information about health in our schools.

As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Thank you!
