7TH GRADE ART

This course focuses mainly on art production, art aesthetics, and art criticism. Art reinforces their prior knowledge of ceramics and clay building skills, painting skills, and drawing skills. Students are introduced to new terminology, skills, mask making, and technology during the clay units. Art history is included weekly so students can focus on aesthetics and learn constructive ways to critique major pieces of art (art criticism). The projects created in 7th grade are:

Abstract Clay Figures inspired on the work of Henry Moore

Portrait Drawings

Self-Portrait Drawings inspired by the work of Frida Kahlo

Abstract Self-Portrait Paintings inspired on the work of Picasso

African Masks

Graffiti Name Design

*Grades will be updated every Thursday.
